Prepared Parenting was developed in response to the devastating increase in child and adolescent suicides in recent years, with an awareness that parents and guardians need information and tools in recognizing and effectively addressing childhood and adolescent mental health challenges. Prepared Parenting's purpose is to empower parents and guardians with information and strategies to address all levels of mental health needs, from early childhood behavioral challenges to crippling adolescent depression. Parents are truly the key in turning our youth into strong, assertive, and successful young adults!
Prepared Parenting was founded by Dr. Paula McCall, a nationally certified school psychologist and Arizona licensed psychologist who works primarily with children and adolescents. Due to both personal and professional experiences, Dr. McCall has become passionate about providing free parent education opportunities about mental health, hoping to reduce the stigma and open valuable and life-saving dialogue.
Prepared Parenting would not be possible without the contributions of those who are also passionate about this outreach. This includes the University of Arizona Downtown Chandler campus School Psychology program as well as the Downtown Chandler Community Center. Many are passionate about this project and Prepared Parenting is so very grateful to all!
